Keratoconus Awareness 2021 is a a ruby red nail polish filled with pink/green/gold shifting iridescent aurora shimmers.
Cupcake Polish is very excited to launch a charity polish for a cause very close to us. Keratoconus is a degenerative eye disease that occurs when the cornea thins and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape. Symptoms include blurry vision and light sensitivity. Currently, Keratoconus treatment is still experimental and is typically not covered by medical or vision insurance in the United States. Corrective lenses which are the only treatment for distorted vision can cost several thousand dollars each and are also not covered- it is estimated that Keratoconus patients will incur an additional $25,000+ over the course of their life to treat this disease. 50% of the proceeds from the sale of this polish during the month of November (National Keratoconus Awareness Month) will be donated to the Dry Eye Foundation. Cupcake Polish’s founder, Sara, is affected by Keratoconus.
